Rubens, Vernard

(Born 1946)

A Detroit native, African-American artist, Vernard Rubens, took up printmaking late in life and specializes in abstract monoprints. He is well known in the Detroit area and has worked also as a muralist painter and metal worker. His work is in the collection of the Charles Wright African-American Museum and Wayne State University in Detroit. He had the distinction of being a part of the cleaning of the Diego Rivera murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts back in 1987. It is with great pleasure that we introduce this fine artist to a national audience.
All artwork is signed by the artist unless otherwise stated in the description.
